Activities with Wild Alaska

Salt Water Fishing

In addition to our fully guided fishing, spend as
much free time as you wish to “scratch that fishing itch.”
Each evening we anchor in a quiet and secluded cove or
bay that always holds bottom fish, salmon, or both. Fish till your arms ache from one of the fully equiped skiffs- "Faith and Hope". Many small streams teeming with fish are available for you to explore in the many  fjords and inlets of the Southeast.

Want to try your hand at some light spinning or fly fishing?
We are happy to arrange it.

Crabbing, Shrimping and Clamming
Hunt for Dungeness crab, spot prawns and clams. We love to show you how it’s done and love even more to show you how really fresh seafood tastes! Enjoy an evening or two with the crew and harvest some of Alaska’s natural bounty.

Kayaking
For those who like a little exercise or want to see Alaska up close, we have several sea kayaks for your use. Paddle into the quiet wilderness and enjoy the sights and sounds of super natural Wild Alaska!

Glacier Viewing
Your cruise takes you to some of the most beautiful places on earth - Alaska’s glacial fjords. You cruise nearer to these ancient geological curiosities than you ever imagined. Their color and majesty defy the imagination and the excitement of experiencing them is beyond compare.

Bear Watching
Bears are everywhere. Your cruise will take you near the islands of Admiralty, where the world’s largest saturation of Brown bears is found, and Kupreanof and Kuiu, where black bears seem to “grow on trees”.

Whale and Sea Lion Watching
If you come to cruise for no other reason than to watch the whales, you’ve struck gold. Southeast Alaska is home to over 700 Humpback whales during their summer migration. These graceful mammals appear often throughout the cruising pathway. It’s common to see groups of a dozen or more whales feeding, casually migrating or taking a nap. Hear the early morning sounds of whales blowing across miles of flat, calm waters. Have your camera ready for the photo of a lifetime- the astounding spectacle of a 40- ton leviathan breaching! Pods of Orcas frequently pass by offering more exciting photo opportunities, and endangered Stellar Sea Lions gather in haul-outs by the hundreds. Watch them play and listen to their boisterous banter. Enjoy the show!

"What a wonderful experience we have had all week.  Fishing, Wildlife, shrimping, crabbing and meals to die for.  All the crew couldn’t have done anything better had they tried.  Looking forward to checking all our photos and do it all again next year.  Really a number 1, first class operation.  Thanks,"
